Axel Hütte: “Towards the Wood” und “Images in Water” von Paul Rolans – The Imagenist

Die aktuellen Photographien von Axel Hütte (*1951 in Essen) zeigen „Spiegelungen“ von Wasseroberflächen, die mit dem Mythos des Narziss – der sich in sein Spiegelbild verliebt und diese Liebe mit dem Tod bezahlt – ebenso spielen wie mit der Wahrnehmung des Betrachters…“ Lesen Sie hier weiter.

Axel Hütte stellt momentan in der Galerie Akinci in Amsterdam aus. Hier eine Rezension von Nicola Bozzi.

“Certain images seem to be able to convey new levels of awareness,
a sort of psychedelic epiphany that, for a few seconds, makes you reconsider your perception.
Once, at the Kröller-Müller museum, I saw a Van Gogh painting in which the blue sky and the yellow grain followed the same wavy strokes throughout – a single, continuous flux shaking the air and the trees alike. These are the pictures that remind you that there is no such thing as a still image, that the corpuscles in your retina are always dancing, even when your eyes are closed, and eventually shape up your dreams..” Lesen Sie hier weiter.

In meinem Fotokonzept „Images in Water“ zeige ich „Spiegelungen“, die zwar die direkte Umgebung wiedergeben, aber diese dabei in ganz neue Bilder transformieren.
Mit der Perspektive die ich einnehme, habe ich Einfluss auf das Resultat. Meine „Images“ wirken als hätte ich sie gemalt oder gezeichnet.
Generell bearbeite ich meine Aufnahmen nur ganz minimal.
Wenn nötig „schleife“ ich sie, so wie ein Diamantschleifer seine Edelsteine bearbeitet. Wenn ich ein „Porträt“ im Wasser sehe, stelle ich davon einige Farbvariationen à la Andy Warhol her um meinen Fund zu akzentuieren.

In my photographic concept „Images in Water“, I show reflections that, although reflecting the immediate surroundings, at the same time transforming them into entirely new images.
With my perspective, I have influence on the result. My „Images“ look like as if I had painted or drawn them. I generally edit my photos only minimal. If necessary, I cut and polish them like a diamond cutter.
When I find a „portrait“ in water, I make some colour variations à la Andy Warhol from them to accentuate my discovery.
